Black Opium Floral Shock, a new luminous nugget in the Yves Saint-Laurent department

“If I chose Opium as a name, it is because I intensely hoped that it could, through all these incandescent powers, release the divine fluids, the magnetic waves, the eye-catchers and the charms of seduction which give birth to mad love. This is how the very first perfume was made, in 1977. A true legend of the Yves Saint-Laurent house, it was modernized in the form of Black Opium in 2014. As if it had been able to reborn from its ashes, this new juice once again ranked at the top of sales for women’s fragrances. So, as if to keep the myth alive, Yves Saint-Laurent decided to transform it again into Black Opium Floral Shock. What are the new strengths of this perfume? We give you our enlightened opinion on the subject …

The new lightness of Black Opium Floral Shock

Black Opium Floral Shock is a very daring fragrance. Indeed, this one dared to refresh one of the biggest myths of the feminine perfumery. Its complex recipe manages to combine multiple families of ingredients. Its flavor begins with scents of citrus and pear. Then, its freshness is relayed by more femininity. Its floral heart combines orange blossom, freesia and gardenia. The clarity of Black Opium Floral Shockthen continues at its bottom. Nevertheless, the latter dares to associate the sparkling clarity of white musks with the effervescence of caffeine. It must be said that the Yves Saint-Laurent house has not skimped on the means in terms of creation. Black Opium Floral Shock is the result of a collaboration between four particularly talented perfumers. This one was made by Nathalie Lorson, Honorine Blanc, Marie Salamagne and Olivier Cresp.

The sparkling visual of the latest Yves Saint-Laurent

On the aesthetic side, Black Opium Floral Shock also appears to be a very elaborate product. Its deceptively square shape is inspired by a traditional Asian Inrô, a kind of small boxes carried by the warriors of yesteryear. Black Opium Floral Shock opens in its center on a glass porthole allowing us to glimpse the tender pink color of its juice. Finally, its glitter finish is absolutely splendid. This bottle seems to be covered with a shower of stars. That says a lot about his ambitions. Black Opium Floral Shock seems resolutely determined to make the woman who wears it shine.

Edie Campbell, a muse we never tire of

Moreover, the Yves Saint-Laurent house has already revealed who would be in charge of the communication of this new perfume. Once again, the brand has chosen to call on the attractive Edie Campbell. Already the face of Black Opium, we must admit that it sticks perfectly to the image of this perfume. The pretty brunette will appear in a clip directed by Nicolas Davenel. Everything will take place in an Asian city, delivering us an incredible game of seduction sewn with dizzying and euphoric sensations.

The aroma of the good girl perfume has been described as a typical example of a feminine fragrance that is neither overbearing nor too strong. In most cases, it has a delicate floral scent that smells both sweet and fresh, but not in an overwhelming way.
