Paco Rabanne’s Invictus was released in 2013. Since then, everyone has only been talking about him and he is undoubtedly one of the stars of the men’s perfume department. He embodies an ideal to which every man aspires. He is at the same time beautiful, powerful and admired by all. Its fragrance is in its image, quite simply universal. Its rendering is woody and plays on two facets, both sensual and fresh. According to the brand, the Invictus hero is a role model for men and an object of desire for women. It is loved by all and you could not escape the trend.

The unique universe created by Paco Rabanne

When the Paco Rabanne house launches a perfume, it usually creates a whole universe at the same time. In 2005, the house launched Black XS, thus creating a very rock atmosphere. Then, 2008 gave way to One Million with the ambition to make us live a glamorous moment. Now it’s time for athletic power mixed with a mythological world. Jean Holtzmann, Director of Marketing and Development at Paco Rabanne, explains that “Invictus is sport, but in its dream dimension of absolute, without compromise, where only victory exists.” More than a perfume, Invictus is an unprecedented concept. The man so idolized is then embodied by the handsome Australian rugby player Nick Youngquest. With him, relaxation mingles with elegance and power resurfaces from all sides. We take part in a trip to the heart of the legendary Camp Nou stadium in Barcelona. We do not know exactly whether we are in contemporary or Roman times; it doesn’t matter, it works and Invictus takes us on board with it from the first seconds. One desire instantly seized us: to get this famous trophy-shaped bottle as quickly as possible!

The seductive freshness of Invictus

In creating this concept, Paco Rabanne not only created a perfume, he went far beyond. Indeed, we have not yet felt the scent of Invictus that we are already seduced. However, it is clear that the olfactory power of this perfume is also there. Invictus was produced by perfumer Véronique Nyberg. For this achievement, she surrounded herself with three other prestigious noses, namely Anne Flipo, Olivier Polge and Dominique Ropion. They then worked hard for two and a half years. Indeed, know that the realization of Invictus is the result of more than 5000 tests! Although this fragrance plays on freshness, it has absolutely nothing in common and offers a truly unique olfactory sensation. It is not a simple fresh water but a very textured perfume. It opens with a citrus surge of grapefruit linked to an aquatic accord made from bay leaves. In addition, it releases a small amber and woody side which makes it particularly virile, even animal. Finally, it ends with a tenacious and racy trail combining guaiac wood, ambergris and patchouli.
